I'm Back.
As we approach NFL training camp and fall camp for the Texas Longhorns, I'm ready for the pageantry of football season to begin!
Last year I decided to create a Substack to follow our NFL Texas-Exes, as the number of Texas Pros was beginning to skyrocket under the tenure of Coach Steve Sarkisian. After a few posts, I thought “hey… what if I also posted in video form, too?”
And so the Texas Pros Cinematic Universe was born! Kidding… but I did start up an Instagram, TikTok, began making small guest appearances on Podcasts, and started collaborating with accounts like Orangebloods and On Texas Football on their Instagram pages. Expanding in this way eventually took time away from writing on Substack, but after giving myself a nice writing-sabbatical, I’m back.
Since I’m almost at the one-year anniversary mark, I’ve been taking a look back at some of the shows and articles I’ve done. One of my favorite posts from last year was the NFL Head-coaching carousel prediction I made in November. While my central thesis was regarding Sark’s pros and cons towards making the jump to the big league, it was the accuracy of my hot seat predictions that made me giddy (9 of the 12 coaches I covered were canned, and 4 of my coaching candidates were hired). I have zero inside sources, but you don’t need a source to read the tea leaves, which I consider to be one of my super powers: I live for the tea!
While I plan to make another “NFL Coaching Carousel” post again (this time without Coach Sark mentioned… more on that another time 👀), I’m most excited to start my research for the 2026 “Texas Fight or Flight” list.
